Construction crews in New York shut down a street inthe Flatiron district on July 5th after accidentallydigging up a bomb. But they soon discovered thatthis bomb wasn’t filled with explosives. Surprisingly, the strange, metal artifact was filled with paperletters and photos. Yes, this bomb was actually atime capsule, originally buried in the 1980s.
纽约熨斗区的一家建筑工地，7月5号因为意外挖出一个炸弹而紧急停工。不过工人们很快发现炸弹里面并不是爆炸性物质。令人惊讶的是，这个奇怪的金属物体里面全是纸信和照片。是的，这个炸弹其实是一个时间胶囊，还是1980年代埋起来的。
NYPD discovered that the inactive bomb was buried by the owners of the legendary (and nowclosed) Danceteria nightclub. The NYPD called John Argento, the old owner of the club. Heexplained that they had purchased the bomb from an Army Surplus store and hung it inside theclub for years before deciding to turn it into a time capsule.

Everything inside the time capsule, which was buried underneath a parking lot, has reportedlybeen destroyed by water damage, though Argento won’t know for certain that all is lost untilthe city gives him possession of the capsule. The NYPD is holding on to it for a few more daysso that a proper search can be conducted of the item.
